Prosthetic Devices

The prosthetic field involves the design, fabrication, and fitting of artificial limbs (prostheses) to replace a part of the body that has either been removed through amputation or was absent at birth. We design, fabricate and deliver state-of-the-art, lightweight, custom fabricated prostheses tailor-made for each individual’s specific needs. We provide initial training with each prosthesis and routine follow up care to ensure the best the possible outcome. We establish long term relationships with our patients as we continue to service their prosthetic needs for years to come.

Orthotic Devices

The orthotic field involves the use of braces (orthoses) to support, assist, or protect specific areas of the body that have been weakened or damaged by birth defects, accidents, or disease. Some of the areas we specialize in include: pediatrics, cranial deformities, pectus carinatum, scoliosis, functional electrical stimulation, adult stroke, multiple sclerosis, and trauma. Our treatment includes evaluation, measurement and/or casting of the affected part of the body. An orthosis is then designed according to the physician’s prescription or the orthotist’s recommendation to the physician based upon the evaluation. Every orthosis is custom made and custom fitted to provide the most effective treatment possible for the specific condition that is being addressed. At the time of delivery you will be given specific application and use instructions for your particular device.

High Realism
Silicone Restoration

High Realism Silicone Restoration serves as both passive (no moving parts) or functional devices to help restore symmetric weight, appearance, and function (when possible) bilaterally. All of WCBL’s silicone prosthetic devices serve another vital role—the realism of the device restores the appearance of the user’s anatomy. The emotional toll of amputation can be devastating. With our high realism design process addressing the aesthetics of the prosthesis, we have found the patient experience to be very gratifying.
