This year marks the 49th Anniversary of Westcoast Brace & Limb as one of the top orthotic and prosthetic companies in the Tampa Bay Area.

We’re incredibly thankful for the support of our community! As we celebrate our success, we can’t help but to look back gratefully at our history.

Inspired by a desire to help others, Jules Bauer and his son, Les Bauer, LO, opened a medical facility in 1971 that specialized in orthotic bracing and rental medical supplies. After quickly becoming known in the Tampa community as dependable and dedicated professionals, they decided to focus solely on bracing and prosthetic limbs. In 1981, Les assumed leadership of the company that is known today as Westcoast Brace & Limb. Les’s son, Greg Bauer, LPO, CPO, became part of the team in the late 1990s and is now the company President. We continue to honor our founder’s mission to deliver unsurpassed patient care by focusing on the whole patient, improving lives and outcomes.

Reflecting on our past, Evaluating our present, and Looking forward to our future.

We then found ourselves asking “what exactly is Westcoast Brace & Limb?” Is it the patients, the staff, the commitment to education, the dedication to community support, the teamwork, the patient networks, the long-standing convictions? One could say that it is all of this and more. We like to think that WCBL is every person who has participated in any part of this company and its growth over the past 4 decades. It is a past we are proud of and a future we are excited for.

As a leader in the Orthotics and Prosthetics industry, we knew we needed to bring our overall brand current to match our modern capabilities and future vision. Two years ago, we began a search for our new logo. To capture the essence of WCBL and all it stands for was a long and emotionally connected journey. We are proud to say that, with the collaboration of local marketing & design agency, Citrus Branding, we found it!

We sought out to embrace our history, while envisioning our future something that would look within and see more than the sum of our parts. Our new logo had to capture our growth, strength, dedication, and foundation. Looking forward, we’ll continue to focus on our core values. Expanding the possibilities for our patients and our medical partners. Identifying the best options and most innovative solutions. We’ll continue, and strengthen, our promise to discover new directions and new ways to provide unsurpassed orthotic and prosthetic care. By focusing on the whole patient, to empower individuals with the tools they need to lead independent lives.

A New Look for WCBL

You may have noticed the new look of our offices, signs, website, and printed materials. However, this is more than a new look. It is a renewed commitment to press forward as an industry leader. Always moving, always evolving. As you explore our new logo and website, you’ll notice the dark green is a nod to our roots. Embracing the color that has passed through three generations of family ownership. The cool grey captures our modern innovations and advancements. Adding the fresh bright green in the fractured piece of the “C” brings our new logo to life. Acting as a reminder of what our core vision has always been: Restoring Bodies. Rebuilding Lives.

As one of the top orthotic and prosthetic companies in Tampa Bay, we will continue to surpass your exceptions. While you’re here, take a look around. We hope you enjoy our new website as much as we do. We couldn’t be more excited to share this new era in WCBL history with you!
