Functional Silicone Devices

This functional device created to allow the patient to regain the use of his dominant hand for writing. The device crated a pivot point, securing the pen in a central position, allowing him to better manipulate the pen.

This device was fabricated using traditional O&P materials, the patient expressed the need for a device that would allow him to return to work; restoring function to his fingers, while at the same time providing protection.

For the design of this device we collaborated with this patients OT, together, we designed a device that matched the length of his residual 2nd finger to the length of his intact thumb, thereby restoring fine motor opposition.
