Physician & Other Healthcare Provider Information
Our goal at Westcoast Brace & Limb is to provide your patients with the highest quality orthotic and prosthetic care. One way we can make the experience at Westcoast more enjoyable is to let patients know what to expect when they walk through our doors. If you're a doctor, therapist, nurse, case manager or someone else referring to Westcoast, here are a few things you may want to pass along to your patients prior to their visit.
Items to Bring
- Insurance card
- Prescription (Rx may be faxed by physician prior to visit. Medicare patients also need to bring original Rx with them)
- Letter of Medical Necessity (Medicare patients who have received a brace or prosthesis in the last 5 years need a letter from their physician)
Office Visit
- Fill out paperwork
- Evaluated by a practitioner
- Instructed about Co-pays and other financial responsibilities
- Fit with orthosis or prosthesis
- Some patients require follow-up visits
Appointments vs. Walk-ins
Appointments are preferred, especially for prosthetic patients who may require a longer period of time with a practitioner, however walk-in patients are always welcome. As a walk-in patient, there may be a longer wait to see a practitioner, but we try to fit people in as quickly as possible without compromising the quality of care.
