Amputee Support Group

Amputees Together of Florida Support Group

We encourage clients to be active participants in our community. That’s why Westcoast Brace & Limb created our amputee support group, Amputees Together of Florida.

Amputees Together is an amputee support group whose membership consists of individuals living with upper and/or lower extremity limb loss, their family and friends, and interested healthcare professionals.  We are a close network of friends who share at least one important thing in common:  the experience of limb loss.  Our meetings are a place where members can find comfort, or provide it to someone else.

What do we do at our meetings?  Expert guest speakers present on various issues related to limb loss, such as pain management, nutrition, and even tips on going back to work.  The presentations are interactive—we encourage members to ask questions and provide input.  Of course, there’s plenty of time for socializing over a nice meal.

The group meets monthly in both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. There is no charge to attend these inspirational monthly meetings, where clients can learn from ‘people who have been there’.

Events, such as picnics, bowling nights, and fundraisers, provide members with a unique opportunity to socialize in the community.  Online support keeps our limb loss network strong and connects members who are unable to attend support group meetings in person.

In between meetings and events, we stay connected on our website, www.AmputeesTogether.org, and even communicate on Facebook, where peer support for our group members is always available.
