Greg Bauer is a Licensed and Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist and President of Westcoast Brace & Limb. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurial Studies from Babson College in Boston, Massachusets.

He studied both orthotics and prosthetics at California State University, where he received degrees in both disciplines. He has earned certificates for expertise in CLeg Systems, Utah Arm, Myobock Upper Extremity and advanced training in Silicone Restoration, Carbon Fabrication, Oregon Orthotic Systems and Certification in various designs of scoliosis bracing.

Greg specializes in upper extremity prosthetics, specifically with myoelectrics and silicone restoration. He oversaw a research project evaluating the effects of treating pectus carinatum with a specific brace designed by Westcoast Brace and Limb. Greg currently is on the St. Petersburg Orthotic and Prosthetic Advisory Board and serves as a Board Member and Treasurer of Self Reliance. He is also a regular speaker for a variety of CEU approved courses for physical/occupational therapists.

Bridget is a Florida Licensed and American Board Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist who is based out of the North Tampa location. Initially trained in Chicago, Bridget was honored with the Gunther Gehl Scholarship, given to the most deserving resident in the Midwest. She continues to work as an adjunct professor for Northwestern University’s Orthotics Program and has presented research at national and local meetings on cerebral palsy. Bridget’s research was featured at the 2007 National Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists meeting and she has been featured in the ACPOC News. Bridget graduated from Stetson University with a B.S. in Integrative Health Science. She received her orthotic and prosthetic education from Northwestern University. Currently, Bridget is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and serves as chair for their Lower Limb Orthotics Society. Her current clinical focus is with lower extremity prostheses and complex orthotic management.

Les Bauer is a Licensed and Certified Orthotist and Director of Westcoast Brace & Limb. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Curry College and a Medical Technology degree from Princeton Hospital. He studied orthotics at New York University. He became Certified in Orthotics through the American Board of Certification in 1975. Les worked with his father, Jules Bauer who also was an orthotist, until 1981 at which time he founded Westcoast Brace & Limb. Les has published numerous articles, including, “The Responsibility of Health Care,” “Spinal Orthotics,” “Exercise Regimen for Scoliosis” and “Pediatric Orthotics.” Les developed the Inflatable LumboSacral Orthosis (ILSO), which is distributed nationwide by the PMT Corporation and the Kaliper Orthosis, which is used for tennis elbow. Les specializes in spinal, lower extremity and pediatric orthotics.

Mike Bertalan is a Licensed and Certified Orthotist and Prosthetist. Mike worked as an orthotic technician as an undergrad at the University of Florida, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He also completed the Northwestern University Orthotic Certificate Program and Northwestern’s Prosthetic Certificate Program. He completed his orthotic and prosthetic residencies at Westcoast Brace & Limb.

T.J. is a Licensed Orthotist and has Board Certification in Orthotics. He attended both St. Petersburg Junior College and the University of Florida. T.J. began his career in orthotics at Clearwater Limb and Brace until 1998, when he joined Westcoast Brace & Limb. T.J has attended a variety of specialized courses for LSOs, RGOs, Charleston Bending Brace and many more throughout the course of his career. He has the distinction of having worked directly with Ralph Hooper, developer of the Charleston Bending Brace. With more than 25 years in the orthotics field, T.J. continues to generously share his expertise by training many up-and-coming practitioners in fabrication, patient management and patient evaluation.

Walt Raynor is a Licensed and Certified Orthotist. Walt received a Bachelor of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Florida International University in 1995, after which he joined Westcoast Brace & Limb. Walt is certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics and is licensed by the state of Florida. He is a member of the Florida Association of Orthotists and Prosthetists (FAOP).

Tom Sallen is a Licensed and Certified Orthotist. Tom received his Orthotist Certificate from New York University in 1974. He came to Westcoast Brace & Limb in April 2000 from McCluney’s Orthopedic & Prosthetics Services in Gainesville, FL. He is a member of the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics and the Florida Association of Orthotists and Prosthetists.

Lee Greenberg is a Licensed and Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1991 from Ohio University. He studied both orthotics and prosthetics at California State University in Dominguez Hills, where he earned his post-graduate degree in 1997. Lee then completed his residency program with Hanger in Orlando, Florida. He became Certified in Orthotics and Prosthetics in 1999, and worked for an orthotic and prosthetic company in Orlando before joining the WCBL team.

Joel Wilch is a Licensed and Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Capital University, Ohio, in 1986, and then earned his post-graduate Degree in Orthotics from Shelby State Community College. In 1997, he journeyed to California State University, Dominguez Hills, where he received his post-graduate degree in prosthetics. He completed his residency program at the University of North Carolina at Memorial Hospital. He became ABC certified in Orthotics in 1990 and in Prosthetics in 1999.

Don Townsend is a Licensed and Certified Orthotist. He received his certification from New York University in 1974 from the American Board of Certification. Don owned his own orthotic and prosthetic company for more than 25 years in Jacksonville and relocated to Tampa Bay where he joined WCBL. Don comes to Westcoast with more than 30-years of experience in orthotics. Don is a Vietnam Veteran and a Bronze Star recipient. Don plays a key role as one of our Mobile Unit practitioners, covering the Tampa Bay area.

Eric is a Florida Licensed Prosthetist, certified by the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics. Eric is a member of the American Academy for Orthotists & Prosthetists and a member of the Florida Association of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Florida International University in 1986. Currently, he is a board-eligible Orthotist. Eric owned his own prosthetic company for more than 18 years and worked in Gainesville, Florida for more than 20 years. Eric is a member of Westcoast Brace & Limb’s Mobile Unit. His interests include running marathons, taking 100-mile bike rides, his faith and enjoying his family and friends.

Vern is a Licensed Prosthetist and is Certified by the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics. Vern has more than 30 years of experience in designing, fitting, and fabricating custom prosthetic devices. He attended Northwestern University Medical School’s Prosthetic Orthotic Center and received his Certificate in Prosthetics in 1978, becoming Certified in 1979. He was formerly a Clinical Director of patient care and research and development for more than 25 years. Vern has developed several prosthetic components and received patents for lower extremity socket adapter systems. He has given presentations at state and national seminars for the advancement of prosthetic design and patient management. Vern is a past president of the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics.

Lizz is a board-eligible Licensed Resident Orthotist, completing her Orthotic Residency at Westcoast Brace & Limb. Lizz worked as a clinical assistant and orthotic/prosthetic technician in Chicago prior to attending California State University. She received her certificate for Orthotics in 2010 and Prosthetics in 2011. During her residency, Lizz had the opportunity to study extensively the orthotic treatment of positional plagiocephaly and adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Jeanine is a Licensed & Certified Orthotist & board-eligible Prosthetist. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics at St. Petersburg College. Jeanine spent her orthotic residency at a private facility in Orlando, FL, where she worked closely with Orlando Regional Trauma Medical Center. During this time she gained experience with patients of all ages and various pathologies. Her prosthetic residency was completed at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, FL., where she gained experience working with poly-trauma patients returning from Iraq & Afghanistan. She is compassionate and knowledgeable in both the orthotic and prosthetic realms.

Luis Capestany is a board-eligible licensed prosthetist and orthotic resident. He graduated from St. Petersburg (FL) College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics. He completed his prosthetic residency at a facility that specializes in upper extremity prosthetics. He has spoken in both the US and internationally on the subject of innovative upper extremity technologies. Luis has been published in The Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics as the lead researcher in the creation of the Transhumeral Recreational Prosthesis.
